Why is meeting online such a decadent thing? Online is
just a technology. We can still send flowers and curses and technology makes
things get delivered, fast. Did I say I met her online?
Meeting has a touch element. Here, I am conventional. Hence,
I did not meet her online but surely started knowing her through emails and
phone calls and all my imaginative day dreams.
It was blaring May and no one travels to a beach in India
in peak summer, more so at the Bay of Bengal. She said we would meet there and
that our presence will bless the beach. I didn’t find it absurd except that it
was a bit rhetoric.
We didn’t give a nomenclature to our “knowing” each
other. It was just two people meeting on a beach. Did I say we didn’t have an
agenda? Yes, we didn’t
There was a sudden surge of dark skies when we were
chatting, rather oddly in monosyllables as we were tongue-tied. I guess meeting in
person was something strange and odd while we felt so connected. The sound of thunder was like a warm up cushion.
I said that there was no one on the beach, except for us.
“What about few Kisses”, I stammered and she said, “That
could be a possibility if it rains. I don’t foresee too much of the rain. Nothing
more than kisses is highly likely”
It started raining suddenly and we stood there.
Reticently, I looked at her and the moment made us come close and kiss. Yes, we
kissed. It was raining after all.
There was an empty shack where we went, dripped with
water and sand while it rained luxuriously.
“Can I ask you something”, She asked and I nodded
“Is a kiss specific for face? Can’t the entire body be
kissed by another body?”
“Valid point. So, what do we do?”
“If the lightning strikes the ocean, the possibilities are many” and it
did, in just one second. Or was it less?
We blessed the beach
